Job Description

Overview: As a Finance Manager specializing in the health sector, you will oversee financial operations while integrating financial strategies with healthcare initiatives. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability while supporting the organization’s mission to improve health outcomes and deliver quality care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the organization’s healthcare objectives. Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  2. Healthcare Budgeting: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and manage budgets for medical programs, facilities, and services. Ensure effective allocation of resources to support patient care and operational excellence.
  3. Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies within healthcare operations, including procurement, inventory management, and supply chain optimization. Implement strategies to control expenses without compromising quality of care.
  4. Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee revenue cycle processes, including billing, reimbursement, and revenue recognition. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards while maximizing revenue capture and minimizing revenue leakage.
  5. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Present financial performance metrics to stakeholders and senior management, highlighting key trends and variances.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor regulatory compliance and financial risks within the healthcare environment. Implement internal controls and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.
  7. Strategic Financial Initiatives: Lead strategic financial initiatives to support the organization’s growth and expansion in the healthcare sector. Evaluate investment opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions to enhance the organization’s competitive position and market share.
  8. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrators, and executives to align financial strategies with clinical goals and patient care priorities. Build relationships with key stakeholders to foster transparency and accountability in financial decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance management, preferably in the healthcare industry. Knowledge of healthcare finance principles, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, conduct financial modeling, and perform variance analysis.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams, drive results, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
