Job Description

Overview: As a Product Sales Specialist, you will be the expert on our company’s products, responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by promoting and selling our products to prospective customers. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of our products and industry trends to understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and cultivate strong relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our company’s products, features, benefits, and competitive advantages. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings to effectively position our products in the marketplace.
  2. Sales Planning: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop sales strategies, target key markets, and identify potential customers. Create sales plans and forecasts to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue opportunities.
  3. Lead Generation: Proactively identify and qualify sales leads through various channels, including inbound inquiries, outbound prospecting, networking events, and industry conferences. Engage with leads to assess their needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
  4. Consultative Selling: Conduct needs assessments and product demonstrations to educate customers on the features and benefits of our products. Customize sales presentations and proposals to address specific customer requirements and pain points.
  5. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including key decision-makers and influencers. Serve as a trusted advisor, addressing customer concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  6. Sales Support: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales operations, customer support, and product development, to facilitate the sales process and address customer inquiries or concerns. Provide product training and support to sales teams and channel partners as needed.
  7. Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline opportunities in the CRM system. Track sales metrics and performance indicators to evaluate progress towards sales goals and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Market Feedback: Gather customer feedback, market insights, and competitive intelligence to inform product development, marketing strategies, and sales initiatives. Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, advocating for product enhancements and improvements based on customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Additional certifications in sales or product management are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in a technology or B2B environment. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building customer relationships.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn and understand complex products and solutions. Previous experience selling software, hardware, or technology products is desirable.
  • Sales Skills: Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a consultative selling approach. Ability to identify customer needs, articulate value propositions, and close sales opportunities.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, influence decision-makers, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Organization: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales productivity tools.
